The NIOSH Science Blog has been updated: 1-Bromopropane

1-Bromopropane (1-BP) is an organic solvent used in numerous commercial and industrial settings.  Excessive exposure to 1-BP can cause irritation and can damage the nervous system.  The National Toxicology Program is currently considering classifying 1-BP as “reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen.”  Yesterday, OSHA and NIOSH released a Hazard Alert for 1-BP.  Read more on the NIOSH Science Blog.
