PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
This educational program will highlight two EMS for Children targeted issues projects that have focused on pediatric facility recognition. A preview of a soon to be released tool kit to assist states in development/implementation of a pediatric facility recognition program will also be shared.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
At the end of this program it is anticipated that participants will be able to:
- Describe facility recognition and its value in providing appropriate emergency care for children.
- Develop, plan, and implement a facility recognition program that includes performance and process improvement strategies.
- List key collaborators and the importance of partnerships in the establishment and maintenance of a pediatric facility recognition program.
A certificate of continuing education will be available for attendance at the live presentation only. To obtain a CEU certificate you must attend the activity in its entirety, submit a completed evaluation form and document your attendance electronically on the sign-in record. The electronic evaluation must be completed within 1 week of the education activity after which the CE certificate will be emailed . You should receive your certificate within 1 hour of completing the evaluation form.

The Indian Health Service (IHS) Clinical Support Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. The IHS Clinical Support Center designates this live internet educational activity for a maximum of 1 1/2 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
The Indian Health Service Clinical Support Center is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
This activity is designated 1.50 contact hours for nurses.
